Portal is a start-up cell engineering platform company focused on enabling next generation cell engineering and cell analytics across research and clinical applications. We are implementing a simplified approach to intracellular delivery, focused on accelerating advances enabled by the new generation of RNA, gene editing, and AI-driven technologies. Our initial product suite is based on a proprietary mechanical delivery system capable of delivering many different types of cargo to a broad range of cell types. Our technology's ability to be used stand-alone or as an integrated component of third-party systems provides a significant opportunity to broadly impact the fields of biological research and cellular therapeutics.
We are seeking a PhD-level scientist who is excited to apply their knowledge and skills outside of the lab while continuing to be at the forefront of innovative science and technology. The successful candidate will play an essential role in implementing Portal’s platform with partnered organizations by building strong relationships and collaborating with a diverse group of industry and academic professionals. The ideal candidate possesses an extroverted, entrepreneurial, and passionate spirit and thrives in a dynamic and goal-driven environment.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Proactively identify, qualify, and generate sales opportunities through a variety of outbound methods including and not limited to, active prospecting via digital tools, market research, and networking at events and conferences
- Work closely with our partners in designing and conducting experiments to explore new applications, and to initiate and implement Portal with their technologies
- With a consultative approach, effectively promote current and emerging technical capabilities through virtual and in-person interactions
- Collaborate internally and cross-functionally, leading discussions and deal negotiations throughout the full sales cycle
- Support product development by conveying and maintaining a strong understanding of the market, industry trends, and dynamics
Your experience & qualifications:
- PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, stem cell biology or related field
- Experience or desire to lead consultative sales in a biotech, instrument, or related environment
- Willingness to live within a commutable distance from Boston. Being geographically close to our operational hub is essential for effective collaboration and engagement with our team and projects
- Ability to travel as needed, 10-15%
- An understanding of or experience with C> products and technologies is a plus
