The Role
Technical Development is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Specialist in our Technical Development Strategic Operations team to deploy a robust and integrated digital framework across an increasingly complex portfolio of technical programs. This is an onsite role based in Moderna’s Technology Center campus in Norwood, MA.
Reporting to the Director, you will be a member of the Strategic Operations team that is responsible for translating our Technical Development (TD) strategy into execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in data manipulation, mining, and visualization as well as cross-functional data communication. The candidate will help develop an integrated digital framework to create and deploy digital tools and analytics and scale up data integration capabilities within TechDev. A successful candidate will be able to develop and implement digital tools and support business processes that maximize value and efficiency across Technical Development.
The Technical Development organization is comprised of scientists, engineers, and problem solvers that develop and implement the most innovative, advanced, and robust platform processes and analytical technologies to deliver Moderna’s medicines. In this highly cross-functional role, you will collaborate with a broad range of subject matter experts across various sub-functions in Technical Development and beyond.
Here’s What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with senior members of the Strategic Operations team and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Create and deploy digital tools, dashboards, and analytics to support stakeholder needs within Technical Development.
- Understand data visualization needs, author user requirements, build databases and integrated dashboards focused on various business needs such as resource management, budget tracking, KPIs/metrics tracking, material planning, and program and portfolio timeline reporting.
- Interpret data, compile results, and create presentations and reports to communicate data insights.
- Support business process development and optimization workstreams.
- Improve TD systems and tools and enable scale-up of project management capabilities.
- Continue to build and maintain the Technical Development culture and community.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related technical discipline
- Experience: 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree.
- Strong data manipulation and data mining skills.
- Proficiency in data visualization and presentation tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint).
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in supporting the building of digital tools to support business processes and data visualization while applying principles, concepts, practices, and standards of drug development.
- Demonstrated understanding of the drug development lifecycle from R&D through commercialization, including an understanding of the interdependencies of functional groups such as process and analytical development.
- Expertise in data mining, data visualization, and dashboards utilizing platforms such as Tableau, Smartsheet, Spotfire, Alteryx, Python, etc.
- Proficient in project management software: Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.
- Proficient in collaboration tools such MS Teams, SharePoint, Miro.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of effective organization
