Description
At Verily, we aim to revolutionize the landscape of evidence generation in order to bring the promise of precision health to everyone, everyday. This involves aligning products that support clinical research and those that support virtual care management closer together, with deep patient, member, and participant engagement.
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, the Senior Medical Director, Care Solutions will play a key role in driving new condition development and improving the care and quality of existing Verily care delivery programs. In this role, you will oversee new program launches from initial opportunity analysis and design to implementation supporting the broader Verily product strategy and roadmap. Additionally, the Senior Medical Director will serve as lead on clinical policy, driving clinical efficacy and outcomes as well as serving as co-lead with Verily’s Health Equity Center of Excellence, furthering health equity as an input into product development lifescycles.
As a leader within the organization, you will provide expertise in the management of chronic conditions with our current and prospective members and clients. The Senior Medical Director will work across the clinical team, as well as other divisions across Verily to effectively manage the design and prioritization of the various clinical programs. You will contribute to the growth of this clinical service line and bring high value program development and expertise in healthcare delivery.
Possible locations of the role are Boston, Dallas, Raleigh or South San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Lead Care Solutions program development on a cross-functional team consisting of product management, engineering, design, data science, clinicians, operations, and marketing in support of Verily’s clinical solutions vision
- Drive efficiency and leadership of the Health Equity Center of Excellence (HE COE) - ensuring that our products and capabilities reach underserved and underrepresented communities in an effort to afford those communities high-quality, equitable care and research opportunities.
- Work cross functionally to embed principles of health equity and diversity by design into the entire lifecycle of our products, from ideation to development, and post-market processes.
- Ensure that all clinical programs exceed the requirements of partnership agreements, provide optimal patient care, lower utilization and efficiently use healthcare resources
- Create clear, concise program briefs and clinical requirements documents (CRDs) supported by clinical research, subject matter expertise, user research and product data to support delivery of clinical care
- Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, clinical experts, data scientists, and product managers to identify new feature sets and enhance existing ones
- Create framework with Clinical Operations leads to deploy a seamless member experience from digital first experience through virtual care as part of program development
- Collaboratively work with stakeholders to identify and understand KPIs for program development with focus on utilization metrics, clinical excellence, care team experience, member experience, and other KPIs for new and established programs
- Represent the clinical point of view on all decisions related to the identification, build-out and management of technology needed to support virtual solutions
- Ensure clinical expertise is represented in all program development in partnership with internal subject matter expertise and external clinical advisory board
- Provide external support to sales teams and implementation teams with customers
- Engage in onsite ideation and strategy sessions with potential and existing clients.
- Present to prospective and existing clients on clinical impact of Verily clinical solutions; actively partner across organization to meet partner needs.
- Hire, train and develop a team to effectively manage a portfolio of programs
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- MD
- MBA, MPH, MHA a plus
- Experience in managing clinical program development in payer, provider, or population health program
- Experience with utilization metrics
- Experience working in a digital health or ambulatory healthcare delivery organization
- Experience working on clinical models and applying evidence based medicine to drive efficacy and health equity in clinical practice
- Experience building clinical service models
- Experience in deploying health equity programs designed to drive clinical outcomes in diverse communities
- Knowledge of population health and health equity principles
- Experience working cross functionally within a large organization
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Google products and use of technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Entrepreneurial drive and ability to operate in an innovative and growth-oriented environment
- Experience with digital health technologies/products
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $256,000 - $340,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
