The
Medical Content Innovation and Excellence Lead in the newly formed Global Scientific Communications organization will work across Therapeutic Areas and collaborate closely with various teams to build and deliver an integrated omnichannel strategy and drive innovation along the spectrum of scientific communication activities, leveraging emerging digital technologies and industry-leading best practices
This role involves ensuring that GSK’s science and data are effectively communicated to the right audiences through the most relevant channels in a timely manner to address medical unmet needs. This role will also partner with Medical Digital & Tech to continuously enhance omnichannel and AI-driven strategies, processes, tools, and resources in scientific communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team to develop and deliver an integrated omnichannel (OC) and genAI medical strategy to ensure effective communication and personalization of GSK’s science and data across all relevant channels including field medical, congresses, and internal/external digital channels.
- Partner with Medical and Commercial Leads to develop insight-driven OC Plans, including digital opinion leader identification/mapping, audience segmentation, detailed customer journey maps, and AI-driven content strategies aligned with audience personas.
- Build and deliver digital scientific communications solutions in partnership with Medical Digital & Tech by leveraging emerging AI technologies to improve upon current processes, tools and resources
- Drive OC implementation across Global and Local Medical teams through best practice development, optimized ways of working, operational efficiencies, and continually evaluating current approaches to maximize the impact of GSK’s science.
- Shape and evaluate content analytics and insights to continuously refine content strategies and develop new approaches to deliver impactful content and medical engagements
- Ensure new content generation processes and tools are fit-for-purpose to enable personalized medical communications and impactful customer experiences globally and locally
- Embed and champion new and innovative approaches for omnichannel scientific communications across medical content, digital channels, and congresses
- Guide the use of impact measurement tools across scientific communications and assess feedback to optimize future initiatives
- Keep pulse on omnichannel and AI-related needs in key markets and Global teams to help improve and optimize future initiatives.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters Advanced degree in science, medicine, or pharmacy.
- 10+ years of related innovation and scientific communication medical affairs work experience.
- Leadership experience managing direct reports, including hiring talent and career development.
- Experience in the strategic planning of new asset launches.
- Experience with professional networking and engaging with a variety of senior key stakeholders.
- Experience resolving issues of internal stakeholders and negotiating appropriate strategies.
- Experience with medical and legal review requirements for medical content.
- Track record of driving successful outcomes through matrix partnerships and cross-functional teams.
- Analytical, logical thought process with proven track record of relationship management, facilitation, and project management skills.
- Solid technical capabilities in Excel, PowerPoint, and Team sites.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and present complex data to a broad range of audiences.
- Effective time management, ability to clearly identify priorities, and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate degree (PhD or PharmD).
- Local, regional, or global medical or R&D experience.
- Scientific communication strategies for large global markets in US, UK, EU, China and Japan
