About Madrigal:
Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company pursuing novel therapeutics for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Our first therapy, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), was granted accelerated approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of adults with NASH with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (consistent with stages F2 to F3 fibrosis) and is being studied in a Phase 3 trial for the treatment of NASH with compensated cirrhosis.
Role Overview:
Director, Diagnostics Strategy (US)
The Director, Diagnostics Strategy, will lead all Diagnostic-focused Alliance Management activities and will also support patient and disease diagnostics activities identified within the US launch plan, as needed. They will interact with diagnostic partners (i.e., equipment manufacturers, laboratories, digital health companies), internal regional and cross functional teams with the goals of supporting the commercialization of Resmetirom.
This position requires a well-rounded individual who has strong cross functional skills: strategic and tactical commercialization experience in diagnostics. The ability to drive cross-functional collaboration; strong analytical and presentation skills; vendor and alliance management experience; and the ability to execute in an integrated operating model will also be important. The position will report to the VP of Diagnostic Strategy and can be either fully remote or hybrid (3 days/week in Conshohocken, PA or Waltham, MA Office).
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of liver-related diagnostic modalities, their underlying technology or science, and utility in the management of patients with metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease
- Lead interactions with key external (e.g., alliance partners, diagnostic partners, testing laboratories) stakeholders to develop programs and manage diagnostics objectives in alignment with the US launch plan for Resmetirom; May also provide support for global launch activities, as needed
- Manages project programs with key diagnostic partners, manages project plans, and ensures that deliverables are on time and in line with contracted terms
- Provide diagnostic domain expertise to internal cross-functional and regional teams (e.g., MSLs, CPLs, KADs, sales) in support use, adoption, and implementation of diagnostic strategies/pathways in the clinic
- Aide in the development and deployment of diagnostic-focused educational materials to support field training efforts
- Support acquisition, analysis, and communication of competitive intelligence and field insights related to diagnostics to inform strategy and tactical project plans
- Support due diligence on diagnostics/ biomarkers with potential to be used to select patients in the future and related assay development efforts for drug launch planning
- Attend all medical meetings as directed by management; attend live conferences and/or programs as necessary as a Madrigal representative
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in scientific field; Advanced Clinical/Scientific degree (e.g., PhD, MA/MS) or Business degree (e.g., MBA) – preferred
- Significant (7+) years of experience working in diagnostics; Liver disease experience is strongly preferred
- Prior experience working with a diagnostics company in the development, validation, or implementation of diagnostics for treatment purposes
- Strong networking capabilities including existing relationships with diagnostics companies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel as needed (including overnights and/or weekends) is required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly motivated, self-driven, goal-oriented, and adaptable
Compensation:
Base salary is determined by several factors that include, but are not limited to, a successful candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits, which include flexible paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance.
