Metric is collaborating with a leading Digital Health startup based in NYC, seeking a Software Leader to spearhead their endeavors in the Digital Health domain. With recent successful funding in Series C, the company is in a phase of rapid expansion. Candidates must possess prior experience in startup environments, particularly within Medical, Health Tech, or Digital Health sectors.
As a pivotal member of the team, you will play a crucial role in establishing technical standards and shaping the overall technical architecture and engineering practices. Your responsibilities will span across all facets of software development, concentrating on tackling complex challenges and constructing robust systems that align with our business objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
- Over 10+ years of experience in software engineering, encompassing the design and development of highly scalable web services and applications
- At least 5 years of experience as a people manager within a software development organization, involved in team recruitment and nurturing
- Over 5 years of experience in planning, designing, developing, and delivering commercial and/or consumer software
- Proficiency in collaborating and communicating effectively with product and program management teams
- Familiarity with modern technology and development practices, including Object-Oriented principles (C++, Java, or similar), and Service-Oriented Architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous involvement in building systems and software for healthcare or healthcare IT organizations is strongly preferred
- Master’s degree in computer science or a relevant field
- Over 10 years of experience in software development management
- Deep technical expertise with hands-on experience
- Proficiency in project management utilizing agile development methodologies
- Capability to translate raw product requirements into software architectures and designs
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling successful collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Senior Leadership
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to utilize data and metrics to support assumptions and viewpoints
