Job Description
We are seeking a scientific contributor to develop validated analytical assays for LNP and drug product characterization. This role will be responsible for designing, developing and validating analytical assays for a targeted LNP drug product to support the platform and pipeline development. The candidate would have the opportunity to work in a collaboration-oriented role in which they would coordinate with other teams and provide analytical support to the discovery and PD teams. The ideal candidate is a sciences major with strong exposure to analytical techniques and who is excited by the idea of being a core participant in building an early startup and guiding the scientific vision of the company. They would be engaged in science and driven by our mission to create therapies that help people in ways that are currently impossible.
- Designing, developing and validating analytical assays for LNP and targeted LNP drug product characterization
- Develop assays for LNPs including lipid raw material QC, composition assessment, Lipid/cargo profiling and LNP/tLNP characterization using HPLC (SEC, Reverse Phase), fluorescence-based methods and other analytical techniques
- Work with cross-functional groups including LNP discovery, PD and CMC team to support needs of analytical method development, characterization, and transfer
- Perform CRO outreach including experimental planning, work coordination and data interpretation for as analytical SME
- Support technology transfer to Industry Partners
- Foster collaborative relationships across the team and company and engage in a positive and exciting work environment
- Contribute to hiring, training, and collaborating with scientists (as needed)
- Author technical documents, including SOPs for analytical methods, maintain diligent records and demonstrate proficiency in scientific communication
- Support high-quality documentations to support regulatory filings
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/MS in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field, preferably with 7/5 years of relevant experience. The title will be commensurate with experience.
- Hands on experience developing analytical methods for complex biological therapeutics
- Prior experience in developing analytical methods for LNP characterization is a must and will be key for this role
- Knowledge of ICH/USP guidelines
- Experience in analytical methods with HPLC (IPRP, SEC, IEx), UV-vis, colorimetric and fluorescence-based
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing validated analytical assays
- Experience in advanced analytical methods for LNP characterization such as LC-MS, MALS, SEC-MALS etc
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex technical topics to diverse audiences with varying technical depth.
- Strong collaborative instinct with good time and resource management skills to match the fast-paced start-up work culture.
- Able to collaborate on and execute multiple parallel studies
