Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- System Implementation & Optimization
Lead facility efforts to plan, design, and implement EMR functionality, focusing on clinical impact, user experience, and establishment of process and outcome measurement.
Partner with clinical teams to assess and optimize workflows, ensuring system updates support clinical effectiveness.
Monitor system performance, proactively addressing issues and facilitating updates and enhancements. Specific tools for this will include Epic Signal and Cogito reporting tools.
Develop and execute training programs for clinical staff with an emphasis on providers to maximize effective use of systems, especially our Epic EMR (aka H2O).
Collaborate with the enterprise implementation team, local training resources, hospital and departmental leaders to identify training opportunities and content for diverse roles and ensure continuous learning.
Supports hospital wide AMiON users serving as the initial contact for troubleshooting and the conduit for modifications requests.
Serve as an escalation point for complex user issues, facilitating solutions and knowledge transfer.
- Clinical Liaison & Change Management
Act as the primary point of contact for clinical informatics initiatives, ensuring collaboration between IT, clinical staff, and leadership.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, guiding change management efforts to enhance system adoption and clinician engagement.
- Epic PAGNY/Medical Staff Training Coordinator and Final Approver
Maintains the Hospital Epic Training Coordinator and Final Approver rosters.
Participate in the Facility Analytics Core, currently led by the CMIO, to familiarize yourself with available capabilities and resources at the local and enterprise level.
Help promote and leverage the Facility Analytics Core in your work with other facility departments and leaders.
Utilize data insights to measure the effectiveness of implementations and identify areas for improvement.
Generate and present reports to hospital leadership on project status, system utilization, and impact on clinical operations.
Coordinates and participates in The Joint Commission assessment and other program audits.
Coordinate and facilitate compliance and regulatory requirements pertaining to EMR.
Drive health IT projects from conception through completion, aligning with facility priorities and timelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public, Hospital or Business
Administration, Health Care Specialization, Engineering, Social Services or a related discipline; and four (4)
years of progressively responsible experience relating to health care program planning, research, design,
operations, evaluation and analysis, one (1) year of which must have been in supervision or planning and/or
analysis; or
- A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in #1 above; and five
- years of progressively, responsible experience relating to health care program planning, research, design,
operations, evaluation and analysis, one (1) year of which must have been in supervision or planning and/or
analysis; or
- A satisfactorily equivalent combination of education and experience, in which 30 graduate-level semester
credits from an accredited college or university can be substituted for one year of experience. However, all
applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree.
