Overview

We’re a new, state-of-the-art general dentistry practice in Auburn, ME, looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing team.

As the first and last person our patients interact with, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming experience while ensuring our office runs smoothly. You’ll handle scheduling, insurance coordination, and patient communication with professionalism and care — all while supporting a team dedicated to clinical excellence and compassionate service.

What You’ll Do

Greet and assist patients with warmth and professionalism, creating a friendly first impression.
Schedule and confirm appointments to maintain an efficient daily flow.
Manage patient communications via phone, email, and text.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, collect co-pays, and assist with billing inquiries.
Maintain accurate records in Open Dental and ensure all information is complete and up to date.
Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure smooth transitions between front office and chairside care.
Assist in presenting treatment plans and financial options when needed.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready front office environment.

Basic Qualifications

Prior experience in a dental or medical front office setting required.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, scheduling, and insurance processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Tech-savvy with comfort using Open Dental (or similar software) and digital communication tools.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with insurance verification and claims submission.
Familiarity with digital forms, text reminders, and paperless workflows.
Passion for delivering an exceptional patient experience in a modern practice.
Desire to grow professionally as the practice expands.
