Your Responsibilities
Lockton People Solutions is currently seeking a collaborative, client-facing Executive Medical Director to support consulting on employee health benefits strategies and provide medical expertise and guidance on topics related to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease along with effective health care delivery strategies for commercially insured populations. In partnership with a team of consultants, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating evidence-based care models, leveraging data and informatics, and translating best practices to develop and deliver strategies that promote high-quality, cost-effective health care for employees and members of employer-sponsored health plans. The Executive Medical Director will be an internal and external resource to advise on the areas of population health, clinical informatics, digital health solutions, health care delivery, and disease and medical management programs to help support Lockton’s fast-growing People Solutions Practice. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and focused on delivering client service excellence. The Executive Medical Director will support Producers and client service leads in business development and prospect meetings.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of specialists to develop strategies that optimize health care utilization, improve health outcomes, and contain costs for members covered under employer-sponsored benefit plans.
- Evaluate population health programs, digital health solutions, disease management, and medical management programs both by vendor and at the client level as those programs relate to specific customer needs.
- Partner with consulting teams to make recommendations to clients on population health strategies, disease management programs and medical management programs best suited to meet their unique needs.
- Partner with consulting teams to make recommendations to improve health and quality outcomes through the evaluation of health plan design and performance.
- Provide medical expertise in the evaluation of client health care data using state-of-the-art clinical data analysis tools.
- In collaboration with data analysts, interpret health care data, trends, and utilization patterns to identify opportunities for improvement, cost-saving initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Research and provide guidance on health plan medical policy considerations and serve as a clinical translator to clients regarding ERISA denials and appeals.
- Partner with Lockton colleagues to share data, knowledge, and findings in support of Lockton’s collective intelligence and thought leadership.
- Provide knowledge and marketing support to Lockton colleagues both in the pre-sale and ongoing client management functions.
- Collaborate with Lockton colleagues to continually improve the value of products and services delivered to clients and to distinguish Lockton as the premier health and welfare consultant nationally.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including carriers, PBMs, third-party vendors, and healthcare providers to enhance partnerships in delivering value-based health care solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, professional associations, and industry experts to stay informed of emerging trends and best practices.
- Serve as a market ambassador on behalf of Lockton by attending conferences, business development meetings, etc.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible MD or DO.
- Minimum 5+ Years’ experience in an academic or clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of health care financing, reimbursement methodologies, and benefit plan design.
- Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of an organization.
- Experience in clinical analytics and informatics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Solid knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Proven record of accomplishment for managing multiple competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of the Managed Care industry, health care insurance and claims payment practices preferred.
