Position Summary
Under direction of the Chief Medical Information Officer, the Manager of Health Informatics will collaborate with various stakeholders to support effective leadership and strategic direction in the coordination of all aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of health information systems as they apply to clinical processes. The scope of this position includes direct oversight of the Health Informatics staff as well as supporting nurses, physicians, and other staff in clinical support areas. The Manager is also responsible for keeping abreast of new innovations in technology, with a focus on optimizing, enhancing and integrating systems. The Manager will make recommendations to the CMIO regarding significant strategic changes and new systems as needed. Development of a strong and effective working relationship with CNO, CMO, clinical leaders, and Information Systems leaders and staff is expected
Education
Bachelors Degree in a health related field, such as Nursing, is required. A Registered Professional Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Provider (APP), licensed in the State of New Jersey is preferred although will consider other healthcare clinical professionals with informatics experience. Master's degree in Health Informatics, or health related field is preferred. Certification: Informatics certification highly desirable and will be required once criteria is met.
Experience
Three years� experience in clinical practice and three years� experience in clinical informatics or IT required. Three years progressively responsible management experience preferred.
