Job Description
The Manager of Access to Care Applications is responsible for a multidisciplinary team of analysts focused on the fulfilling the goals and Connecticut Children’s strategic vision around Access to Care and Digital Strategy. The Manager is responsible for developing and implementing new areas of utilization for digital health and access activities. The manager will ensure their team is focused on initiatives to drive the adoption and implementation of digital health solutions which will enhance patient and family experience, improve outcomes, and optimize operations. The position supports the clinical, operational, financial, quality, and regulatory activities included within access to care and digital health. Serves as a subject matter expert within the evolving digital health space and associated technologies. The Manager has oversight of the Epic features designed to support access to care and digital health including but not limited to MyChart, Open and Direct Scheduling, virtual visits, and Welcome.
Responsibilities
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees all aspects of Connecticut Children’s access to care and digital health Epic solutions.
- Serves as an advisor and ensures alignment on the Connecticut Children’s strategic plan and business plans for digital health programs including (but not limited to) digital welcome, online services, virtual health, and digital access via EHR.
- Oversees the application team is supporting the system needs related to clinical, technical, and regulatory activities within digital and health and access to care applications.
- Leads the development and rollout of both ongoing services as well as expansion of all digital health services.
- Leads workgroups and related committees; contributes to MyChart steering committee.
- Onboards new sites and specialties for all advances with digital functionality.
- Develops and manages project plans, including key deliverables and resource requirements.
- Develops, evaluates, and manages budgets where applicable.
- Works closely with vendors regarding all aspects of digital health services provided at various locations.
- Collaborates with practices and physician leaders to facilitate safe and effective clinical consultations delivered through various means.
- Partners with operational leaders in Marketing, Strategy, Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group, Revenue Cycle, Patient and Family Experience, Provider Relations, the Clinically Integrated Network and Community Providers to ensure that application configuration will meet operational and strategic requirements while being deployed in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
- Collaborates with other organizations to evaluate effective methods of clinical cooperation.
- Participates in site visits with appropriate clinical and operation management across the hospital and clinics as well as participating virtual health sites.
- Oversees MD training, including simulation, at Connecticut Children’s and partner sites.
- Monitors the evolving landscape for reimbursement and supports the ongoing development of digital health reimbursement acumen within Connecticut Children’s.
- Must role model Connecticut Children’s Service Behaviors and Leadership Competencies in all professional interactions.
- Maintains appropriate timelines for projects specific to digital health.
- Performs other related responsibilities as assigned.
Provides appropriate supervision and oversight of any analyst staff supporting digital health.
Qualifications
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Management, health or business administration or related field is required.
Education Preferred: Advanced degree is preferred.
Experience Required:
2-3 Years Of Management Experience Is Required.
3 plus years’ healthcare information technology, business experience in health care operations or relevant support services is recommended.
Epic certification preferred.
Experience Preferred: Experience in telemedicine service, understanding of telemedicine technology or healthcare IT systems is preferred.

- Knowledge and aptitude for proper and potential use of digital and virtual health services.

- Keeps current on governmental regulations and compliance requirements in the healthcare information technology arena.
- Knowledge of the Telehealth payment and technology landscape.
SKILLS:
- Strong communication skills required – written, verbal and presentation.
- Project management experience with accountability of coordinating multiple resources and delivering results based on plans and time tables.
- Ability to communicate across diverse constituents; clinical staff, office staff, technology specialists, vendors, and government organizations.
- Ability to work independently and motivated to develop opportunities.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and/or negotiate with others to achieve positive results; establish and maintain effective interpersonal relations.
ABILITY TO:

- Employ software quality assurance and testing concepts, techniques, industry best practices, tools, and standards.
- Demonstrated staff management experience, along with interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with all levels of client.
