The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for serving as a resource and contact for staff in relation to clinical applications including but not limited to: PowerChart, Surginet, Anesthesia and Firstnet. The Clinical Informatics Specialist will collaborate with the CI Manager and Director as well as CMIO to coordinate and facilitate workflow and process improvements in relation to IT systems in order to enhance the effectiveness of clinical applications. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for providing initial training to new physician medical staff, residents, locums and midlevel providers, as well as continuing education and training for physician staff and super users. The CI specialist will work to resolve problems quickly and efficiently in collaboration with IT clinical analysts while utilizing the change management process. CI specialists will act as a resource and liaison at medical staff meetings throughout the healthcare system. Clinical Informatics Specialists will also assist IT with implementations and system upgrades of inpatient clinical applications.
