Title: Patient Care Coordinator*
*Full Time: M-F 8:00-5:00

**This positoin is entry level**
The key functional responsibility of the Patient Care Coordinator is to manage the first impression of the practice for all patients and guests. As the Patient Care Coordinator is the usually the first interaction a patient or guest has with the practice, displaying the brand value and reputation is of highest importance.
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for welcoming all new and existing patients and guests to the practice. This may occur via front desk reception, telephone, email, etc. The Patient Care Coordinator ensures efficient patient flow within the practice and maintains a full appointment schedule.
The Patient Care Coordinator will check-in and check-out patients and be responsible for collection of patient fees at time of service.
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the reception area in a way that is consistent with the practice’s brand.
Job Responsibilities:
- Welcoming all patients and guests to the practice
- Answering the telephone
- Scheduling appointments and maintaining a full appointment schedule
- Assisiting in Checking Patients in for their appointment
- Assisting in Checking patients out when their appointment has ended
- Keeping the Optometrist(s) on schedule and maintaining efficient patient flow
- Appointment confirmation and recall reminders
- Assisting with digital chart prep i.e. Insurance Verification.
- Receiving all incoming practice mail and email
- Reports to management/leadership on the status of appointment schedule
- Reports to management/leadership any patient challenges or complaints, likewise maintains and documents all patient testimonials

Must be able to work at a fast pace. Effectively handling multiple tasks at one time, focusing on patient flow and experience.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to speak clearly in one on one settings and small group settings.
- This position will require sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, and bending, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity for typing.
- This position could be exposed to loud noises and frequent phone conversations.
- The majority of this job will be spent indoors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
