What Our Patient Care Coordinator Does
The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for patients, ensuring an exceptional experience from the initial phone call through every subsequent visit.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments via phone and online inquiry
- Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility, as well as obtaining any insurance authorizations
- Create and update treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
- Accurately determine patient co-insurance in an out-of-network practice
- Treatment plan presentation, ensuring patients understand their treatment options and any related costs
- Generate patient invoices and collect payments
- Ensure patient records are accurate and up-to-date, including detailed health histories, treatment plans, and insurance details
- Assist in general office and administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Dental experience with working knowledge of ADA codes and terminology
- Knowledge of dental insurance policies, procedures, and limitations
- Experienced in managing a schedule with varied appointment and procedure times
- Reliable and punctual in attendance and task completion
- Coachable, with a willingness to learn and adapt to different systems
- Skilled at multitasking, maintaining composure, and preserving a positive attitude
- Ability to understand and address the concerns and needs of patients compassionately
