Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Manager to oversee day-to-day billing operations and optimize revenue cycle performance. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team, implement standardized workflows, minimize denials, and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reimbursement across our RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring), CCM (Chronic Care Management), and, where applicable, RTM (Remote Therapeutic Monitoring) services.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Ownership: Manage thefull claims lifecycle, including charge review and scrubbing, submissions, payment posting, reconciliations, rejections and denials, appeals, and patient balance oversight..
- KPI Management: Monitor and optimize key performance indicators, including clean claim rate, first-pass resolution, denial rate, days in A/R (DSO), and net collection rate; prepare and deliver weekly and monthly performance reports
- Payer Relations: Serve as the escalation point; maintain payer portals and clearinghouse connectivity; manage appeals and reconsiderations.
- Process & Compliance: Create/maintain SOPs; implement process improvements/automation; ensure adherence to CMS and payer rules, CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers, and HIPAA.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work with Intake, Coding, Clinical/Reviewers, and Finance to prevent upstream errors and support accurate month-end close.
- Policy Currency: Stay current on CMS updates and payer-specific guidance, including RPM/CCM (and RTM, if applicable) billing rules.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years medical billing/revenue cycle experience, including 2 + years leading a team (lead/supervisor/manager).
- Extensive expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing, including managing denials and appeals.
- Strong command of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers, payer edits, and medical necessity.
- Proficiency with PM/EHR and clearinghouses (e.g., Kareo, eCW, Athena, AdvancedMD, etc.).
- Strong reporting skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and confidence presenting results to leadership.
- Experience with RPM/CCM (and ideally RTM) preferred.
- Certifications are a plus: CPB, CMRS, CPC, CRCR.
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.
