As our Insurance Product & Compliance Consultant, you'll translate complex insurance regulations into structured workflows and data models that will fuel intelligent automation. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary expert on insurance regulations across P&C, life, health, and surplus lines
- Analyze insurance documents and translate them into structured data models for AI training
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to define system requirements and validate outputs
- Interpret Department of Insurance (DOI) guidelines and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Engage with insurance carriers to understand quote generation logic and data integration processes
- Support the development of user-friendly insurance workflows and simplify complex terms for platform users
- Conduct training sessions to educate cross-functional teams on insurance fundamentals and regulatory requirements
- Stay updated on federal and state regulations, NAIC model laws, surplus lines rules, and ACORD standards
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert on insurance regulations for P&C, life, health, and surplus lines
- Analyze policy documents and convert them into structured formats for AI and data modeling
- Ensure compliance with state and federal insurance regulations, including NAIC guidelines and DOI requirements
- Partner with product and engineering teams to define feature requirements and validate AI outputs
- Consult with insurance carriers to understand quote generation logic and data integrations
- Translate technical compliance requirements into clear, user-friendly workflows
- Lead training sessions to educate team members on regulatory and insurance concepts
- Monitor and interpret updates in regulatory frameworks, ACORD standards, and surplus lines rules
What We’re Looking For
- 8–10 years of experience in the insurance industry (carrier, agency, MGA, or regulator)
- Deep expertise in policy forms, underwriting, filings, and regulatory compliance
- Solid understanding of NAIC model laws, surplus lines regulation, and DOI processes
- Experience working with or supporting insurtech, SaaS, or digital product teams is a strong plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field preferred
- Industry certifications such as CPCU, CLU, ARM, or AINS are strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail and a passion for simplifying complex systems
