General Summary
The
Vice President and Divisional Chief Information Officer (DCIO) for IT Operations reports directly to the
Senior Vice President of Operations and Service Management for AdventHealth IT. This leadership role oversees the strategy execution and service delivery functions of AdventHealth IT (AIT) for the Florida Division and AdventHealth University, managing multiple RCIOs and their teams within an integrated IT organization. The position focuses on three core areas: IT strategy execution, product and project delivery, and IT support and field operations.
As the senior IT executive sponsor for the Florida Division and AdventHealth University, the
Vice President and Divisional CIO plays a critical role in driving major business and IT transformation initiatives within the market. This role collaborates closely with the IT executive product teams, regional CMIO’s and facility executive leadership teams, representing diverse departments and services across AdventHealth regions and the broader enterprise.
The
Vice President and Divisional CIO is responsible for creating and directing the development of short- and long-term information system plans that align with AdventHealth’s divisional and corporate strategies. The position ensures IT initiatives support the goals and objectives of AdventHealth hospitals and business entities. Additionally, the role emphasizes alignment with market and hospital strategies while ensuring strong clinical, ancillary and business executive engagement to maximize IT impact.
Demonstrated ability to drive large-scale operational transformations and lead high-performing teams.
Knowledge And Skills Preferred
- Understanding of acute care workflow and a knowledge of new/revised care delivery models - including, but not limited to, Accountable Care Organizations and Bundled Payment models.
- General understanding Data Security frameworks including but not limited to, HITECH and HITRUST
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor Degree is required; advanced degree is preferred
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in progressively responsible Information Technology management positions with 10 Years in a IT leadership role in healthcare
- Experience in a multi-layered, matrixed environment
- Demonstrated large project implementation and governance experience
- Previous experience managing a large budget
- Previous experience managing a staff of IT professionals
- Strong communication skills-verbal and written
- Relationship management capabilities
- Technical strategic thinking/planning and vision setting
- Results oriented management style
- Ability to effectively lead and communicate IT Strategies and programs with Senior Leadership
- Experience in a leadership role defining policies and procedures in a complex organizational environment.
Education And Experience Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Business or Information Technology.
- Professional memberships such as HIMSS or CHIME

- CHCIO (Certified Healthcare CIO Certification)
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management and Systems
