Founded over 80 years ago, the Wheaton Eye Clinic is a nationally recognized multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice that spans the western suburbs of Chicago and is the largest independent ophthalmology clinic in the Midwest. We pride ourselves on serving the community both as a caring eye care provider and as a reputable employer. Our offices are located in Wheaton, Naperville, Hinsdale, Saint Charles, Bartlett, and Plainfield and an ophthalmology-specific ambulatory surgery center at the main office in Wheaton. We currently have 34 ophthalmologists and 6 optometrists in every ophthalmic subspecialty are highly respected in the region and have superb relationships with referring colleagues and health systems. Patients travel to Wheaton Eye Clinic from throughout Northern Illinois, as well as from across the United States. Job Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Manager will provide direction and design to Wheaton Eye Clinic's computer and telecommunications infrastructure. In addition to oversight of the network and its architecture, the IT manager will also be responsible for managing IT staff who will maintain internal systems.
Work with the President, Administrator and CMIO to determine IT department goalsContribute to the continuity of computer services by providing necessary technical leadership and project coordination Perform all supervisory responsibilities associated with the IT department staff including employee performanceEnsure compliance with all company policies and procedures for all employees as a member of the management team Manage all aspects of the implementation and operation of information and functional systems for the organization, including software applications, network, phone systems and end-user computers. Manage communications and working relationships between IT and other departments within the organizationEnsure security of data, network access and backup systemsDevelop and manage the annual IT operating and capital budget and ensure cost effectivenessOversee the purchase, installation and maintenance of all hardware and software applications and patch managementImplement and update hardware/software inventory and capital budget recommendationsProvide direction to IT staff relating to technical issues within our environment built on Citrix, Microsoft, and VMwareOversee and determine timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outagesSchedule all backup activities; maintain backup data; maintain disaster recovery planMaintain all computer hardware and software infrastructure, including email, web, WAN and LAN network servers, computers, and VoIP networkCoordinate activities with the outsourced network service providersEnsure adherence to software licensing requirementsCommunicate with key stakeholders as required: notify them of impending changes, incidents or pre-determined outagesComplete incident reports as needed for outages and system issuesDevelop and maintain effective relationships with physicians, employees, vendors, clients and business partnersInterface with Northwestern staff on technical aspects of the network for the purpose of utilizing EPIC as a connect customerExplore vendor options for a ticketing system to streamline our technical support systemManage the copier performance arrangements, performing system reviews, updates and upgradesKeep up to date with new technologyMaintain an inventory list of IT assetsOther duties as required by President and /or Administrator
Education
2 or 4 year degree required - Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred - Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Certificates/Licenses/Registration
Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCITP, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP
