The Women’s Health Team Lead will serve on the PHC leadership team, the Global Health Programs Extended Leadership Team, and as the primary leader for women’s health at PATH. In addition, the Women’s Health Team Lead will serve as the Injectables Access Collaborative (AC) Project Director. In these dual roles, they will report to PATH’s PHC Director.
The AC is a multi-country coordination and technical assistance (TA) effort that aims to ensure the sustainable availability of injectable contraceptive options, including self-injection of DMPA-SC, as part of an expanded range of family planning methods delivered through informed choice programming. The Project Director will drive the strategic direction for the AC project and oversee activities and staff to achieve project milestones. They will coordinate closely with PATH and partner staff, including the AC consortium leadership team, Country Coordinators in Africa and Asia, finance lead, workstream leads, and others to ensure that project activities are implemented efficiently and in alignment with work plans and budgets.
As AC Project Director (~75% time), the person in this role will have the following responsibilities: (please note this is a partial list of duties, additional information can be found on the application site):
Lead and manage the AC project
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the success of the AC, while ensuring alignment with principles of choice and equity
- Apply cultural agility in managing a globally dispersed, multilingual project consortium
- Lead the multi-partner, 11-country project team to ensure activities are accomplished on time and within budget
- Lead efforts to strategically and rapidly address supply-side barriers to country access to DMPA-SC, including introduction in new countries and scale-up in current countries, to ensure countries are progressing efficiently along phases toward sustainability
As Women’s Health Team Lead (~25% time), the person in this role will also have the following responsibilities (please note additional information on these subheadings can be found on the application site):
Lead and manage the Women's Health Team
- Lead and build the capacity of a global team with strong connections across PATH
- Ensure high quality implementation of projects
- Represent PATH externally
- Generate new revenue across geographies
Required Experience
- Master's degree in public health, public policy, or related field plus a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in global women’s health, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus a minimum of thirteen years of progressively responsible professional experience in global women’s health
- Experience in building and managing relationships at the global, regional, and national levels with various donors highly desired
- Enthusiasm for and proven proficiency and success in business development of multimillion dollar awards, from shaping new ideas into compelling proposals to building a pipeline of prospects through to managing partnerships; successful business development with USAID and/or the Gates Foundation is highly desirable; proven track record in meeting business and implementation targets
- Strong family planning market shaping expertise with demonstrated experience in new Family Planning product introduction highly desired
- Demonstrated people management skills with commitment to building a shared vision of the future and positive team culture across multiple country sites, including at least three years of management or supervisory experience
- Proven technical leadership in aspects of women’s health program design, implementation, measurement, and research, including familiarity with self-care approaches
- Solid technical knowledge and extensive experience in global SRH programming
- Experience in building and managing relationships at global, regional, and national levels with multilateral organizations, implementing partners, governments, local organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector
- Proven ability to lead cross-cultural teams, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to different geographic and sociopolitical contexts
- Experience leading or overseeing strong monitoring, evaluation, and learning to ensure accountability and continuous quality improvement
- Exceptional written and oral communications geared to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences, and proven ability to make presentations to and facilitate meetings of small and large groups
- Above-average emotional intelligence and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Documented experience contributing to an inclusive environment and discussing issues of diversity, equity and inclusion as it relates to team and overall PATH priorities
- Excellent team player with ability to obtain results from dynamic teams and be able to obtain consistent updates from initiatives taking place across the PATH women’s health portfolio
- Excellent collaborator with ability to see and create connections across health areas, as well as across functional areas (e.g. digital health, diagnostics, advocacy etc.) within a matrixed organization
- Fluency in English required; working knowledge of other languages (e.g. French) is an advantage
- Available to travel nationally and internationally estimated at 20 percent of the time, with flexibility for virtual leadership and management across different time zones
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. or the PATH country office location

We offer our employees a competitive salary and generous benefits. For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.
