Job Summary:

The Remote Administrative Floater provides virtual administrative support across various departments within an orthopedic practice. This role ensures smooth daily operations by handling scheduling, patient communications, medical records management, and other administrative tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and experienced in medical office procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist multiple departments remotely by handling scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communications.

Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and coordinate virtual patient inquiries.

Manage electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with HIPAA.

Process referrals, obtain prior authorizations, and verify insurance information.

Assist with billing, claims processing, and payment verification as needed.

Support providers with calendar management, appointment scheduling, and administrative tasks.

Maintain digital patient files, update records, and ensure data accuracy.

Coordinate virtual meetings, prepare reports, and assist with office projects.

Provide backup support for administrative team members when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience in a medical office, preferably in an orthopedic or specialty healthcare setting.

Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, or similar).

Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and telehealth platforms.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a remote setting.

Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration preferred).

1–3 years of experience in a medical administrative role, preferably in orthopedics.

Experience working remotely in a healthcare setting is a plus.

Technical Requirements:

Reliable high-speed internet connection.

Secure home office setup to ensure HIPAA compliance.

Familiarity with remote communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, VoIP phone systems).

Pay Range $18.50-$23.50
