Below is the job description:

General Summary:
The Medical Record Specialist is responsible for managing and organizing patient medical records to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility. This role involves maintaining physical and electronic medical files, updating patient information, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize and maintain patient medical records, both physical and digital.
Review and update patient information in the healthcare system.
Ensure that records are complete, accurate, and compliant with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
Respond to requests for patient records from authorized personnel.
Assist healthcare providers with retrieving and filing medical documents.
Perform data entry and maintain database systems.
Ensure the secure storage and proper disposal of medical records.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in health information management preferred).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of medical terminology and confidentiality regulations.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment:
Medical office, hospital, or healthcare facility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
